Portfolios
Reproducing an image of a person requires an acute study of the structure of its bones, the layers of skin and color shaping the bones and an emotional response. Following are people I have known, people I admire. I hope you recognize some!

Encaustic
The ancient medium of encaustics dates back to 3000 B.C. The Greek word "encaustikos" is derived from the mixture of heated beeswax, damar crystals and pigment which are blended and fused by heat to a birch panel.
Acrylic
A faster drying medium allows for spontaneous interplay of various subjects. Usually I employ acrylics for the opportunity to sketch while painting. It is a satisfying medium.
Oil
Painting in oils provides a rich color and the process requires painting fat over lean allowing the paint to blend and build up as the oil dries.
Mixed Medium
Mixed mediums incorporate various elements and materials into a collage composition. Glueing these pieces to a hard surface is like putting together a puzzle. Employing a variety of elements 2D - 3D allows the process to be experimental.
